Second Evanglism Service at the Sabolciu Gypsy Village

Sunday March 11, 2012

“But I trust in your unfailing love, my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me.”                                                  – Psalm 13:5-6

The second evangelism outreach service at the Sabolciu gypsy village was just awesome!

Our second evangelism outreach service.

This evening even more people came out today (at one point we had around 80 people at the church)! We had special guests from another gypsy church that is near the Sabolciu gypsy village. They sang songs and shared their testimonies. It was so great to have them there today to enjoy their beautiful music and hear how God has changed their lives! It was great that there were quite a few men that gave their testimonies too.

Steve who’s one of our missionaries here preached a great message on salvation and Dan translated for him. After Steve finished his sermon, he

invited people to come up to the front to make a decision to come to Christ, while we waited for people to make their decisions Dan played a couple more songs to end the service. While the last few worship songs were being played I prayed that God would stir in people’s hearts and bring them to Him.

Maria (she’s 7 years old) sat next to me the whole evening. It was a blessing to sit with her because we have a very close relationship. During the time I prayed for God to draw people to Him, I felt a nudge in my spirit to ask Maria if she would like to ask Jesus in her heart so I asked her. I was so happy when she said yes! I wanted to make sure this is what she wanted to do so I even asked her a couple of times and every time she said yes!

After Dan finished playing the ending songs I went up to him and told him that Maria

would like to accept Christ in her heart. I wanted to ask him if he would help me with translating the sinner’s prayer with her. He was glad to hear that so then he told me that Iby (she is one of our volunteers from the orphanage) will help me with translating.

Then Iby, Maria and I went to another area in the church where we could talk and pray together. It was such a joy that the Lord gave me to lead Maria in a prayer to receive Christ! I really cannot even put into words how happy and how humbled that I felt to be a part of that. After we prayed I gave Maria a big hug and told her that I love her. Sadly no one went up for salvation at the end of the service however I praise and thank God for Maria’s salvation. The angels are rejoicing in heaven and I am rejoicing with them!!

After the service we all enjoyed the sandwiches and the soda pop drinks that were

prepared by Ica, Anca, Simona and two of the young teen girls – Larisa and Geanina who are our wonderful group of strong committed Christians in the village. It has been such a blessing to get to know them more especially over the last five months since I started to go to the church services regularly. Please pray for the Christians in the village that they will continue to stand in the gap for their community and continue to shine the light of Jesus as well. Thanks for your continual prayers!
