“I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit, apart from me you can do nothing.” – John 15:5
This scripture verse is something that I need to remind myself everyday that Jesus is the vine and apart from Him I can do nothing so I choose daily to remain in Him. I also believe too that remaining in Jesus is to be close to Him in an intimate relationship with him and then out of our intimately with our Lord and Savior we will bear much fruit because it will just come naturally out of our love for our Lord.
This evening I went to church for our midweek service. Today I started to go a bit earlier for the pre-service prayer as I am now on the prayer intercessory team. It was really, really great to spend time in prayer and seek God before the service began because it definitely helped me get my focus on God right away. My friend Stefan preached a great message on weapons to use that will help us fight in the spiritual warfare we are all in.
The five main weapons that Stefan gave were: 1) praise and worship, 2) intercessory prayer with worship, 3) the power of love, 4) to have your full confidence and identity in Christ and 5) other weapons (e.g. the word of God, fasting, being on your knees, lifted hands, clapping hands. We are all in a spiritual warfare and we need to learn to be strong, fight and declare our victory that we have in Christ!
