“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or image, according to his power that is at work within us.” Ephesians 3:20
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do not perceive it?” Isaiah 43:18-19a
Wow, I read the Jesus Calling devotional book (written by Sarah Young) last year but it was so good that I decided to go through it again this year and today’s devotional reading really spoke to me and quite often this year God divinely speaks to me through this book! Today’s devotional reading was a lot about giving up your control and surrendering everything to God and allowing Him to take you on the glorious adventure that He has for your life.
Here’s today’s devotional reading:
“Draw near to Me with a thankful heart, aware that your cup is overflowing with blessings. Gratitude enables you to perceive Me more clearly and to rejoice in our Love-relationship. Nothing can separate you from My loving Presence! That is the basis of your security. Whenever you start to feel anxious, remind yourself that your security rests in Me alone, and I am totally trustworthy.
You will never be in control of your life circumstances, but you can relax and trust in My control. Instead of striving for a predictable, safe lifestyle, seek to know Me in greater depth and breadth. I long to make your life a glorious adventure, but you must stop clinging to old ways. I am always doing something new within My beloved ones. Be on the lookout for all that I have prepared for you.”
Romans 8:38 – 39; Psalm 56:3-4; Isaiah 43:19
This evening church was so great! My pastor preached a really great sermon on how God has chosen us from John 15:16. God reminded me that He is the one who has chosen us and not the other way around. It was definitely great timing to hear this message and I am so thankful how God speaks to us in such divine times in our lives!
