“But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son purifies us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7
In the morning we left on our three day road trip. We rented a car from a car rental company which was a blessing to have a car to be free to travel where we wanted to and my friend Andra also joined us for the trip and that was another blessing to have a Romanian along with us. Today, we travelled to Timisoara and stopped in Arad for a short time (around an hour). It was nice to do a bit of sightseeing along the way.
We spent the evening in Timisoara. We went to the area of the city where the revolution
started back in 1989. I really wanted my family to see that part of the town because I thought it is an important part of Romania’s history and you can still see the bullet marks in some of the buildings where the guns shot at that time too. I couldn’t believe that I accidently stepped in chocolate ice cream that was on the ground so then I decided to wash my foot in the bird bath and then later I accidently stepped in gum! It was so annoying but at the same time kind of funny!
After we went to the old part of the town we went to the Iulius mall. I really wanted my family to see this mall because when I saw it for the first time a couple of years ago I was amazed how big it is and I when I was there I definitely didn’t feel like I was in Romania. I think they were impressed with the size of it too! We decided to have subway for dinner at the mall. Even though it was another North American fast food restaurant it was a nice treat because I don’t even remember the last time I ate at the subway because we don’t have it in Oradea where I live.
For the night we stayed at a Pensiuna called Casa Celia which is like a hotel. I stayed in a room with my brother and Andra and my parents had their own room. It was a great first day on our road trip!
Three more weeks until I fly out to Pemba, Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School!! Africa here I come!!!
