Dear Family and Friends,
I hope you are doing well! It is hard to believe that I have already been back in Romania just over a month already. Where does the time go? Time flies and I would love to share an update with you!
The Time I had in Canada
It was a real blessing to be able to return to Canada for a few months because the last time I was there was in June 2011! I flew to Toronto on Thursday March 7th. It was so great to spend time with my family, see my relatives, friends and supporters! My brother Jonathan moved out on his own this year in January into his own apartment in Brantford because his job got transferred. I was so happy to see where he lives now and I must say that I am very proud of him as his sister for how he is growing in his independence and in the Lord too!
I am very grateful that I was able to attend the Missions Fest conference in Toronto on Saturday April 13th and also the Holy Spirit Explosion day ministry conference on April 27th that one of my supporters does every month as well when I was in Canada. It was a real blessing for me to be in Canada for my Mom’s birthday this year, reconnect with my friend Kim who’s a missionary with YWAM and also have a little reunion with two my friends that went to the Harvest Mission School in Mozambique. I am also very grateful that I had a little prayer send off gathering at my parent’s house before I return to Romania too which was a real encouragement to me.
My Transition into YWAM
I flew back to Romania on Monday May 6th and I arrived back on the 7th. It was so great that my whole family was able to be at the airport which was a real blessing to be all together one last time. I just want to thank-you for your prayers for my return trip back home to Romania. My first flight to Zurich, Switzerland ended up getting delayed almost two hours but thankfully I did not miss my connecting flight to Budapest because I had a long layover. When I got to Budapest I then took an airport shuttle service to Oradea, Romania. I spent almost a week in Oradea to pack up my apartment and then I moved to Târgu Mureş on Monday May 13th to begin my new season with YWAM.
When I came to Târgu Mureş, I did not know exactly where I was going to live because I could not bring Minnie my cat onto the YWAM base so that was quite heavy on my mind when I arrived here. I praise God that He is the God of miracles! My heart is filled with so much gratitude for all of the help that God had provided for me to load up the truck for my move, I had a Christian driver who spoke English really well, Minnie my cat did amazing the whole 4 1/2 hours here and God provided a beautiful apartment for me the day I got here which was an incredible miracle! I moved into my new apartment on Tuesday May 14th and Minnie is already making herself at home here.
I am very excited for the new team that God has placed me in here at the YWAM base in Târgu Mureş, Romania and they already feel like family to me! Currently there are about ten people on the team which is a small group but we are growing and everyone is so passionate for God as well. I just love how we meet for times of prayer and worship throughout the week in the mornings.
”I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.” – Psalms 89:1
YWAM National Conference
My very first week with YWAM, Romania had their annual national conference which was an amazing timing because it was like an introduction for me of what Youth with a Mission is all about in Romania and I also had some really great bonding with my own team too. The conference was held in Iaşi which is in the north east part of Romania. It was from Thursday May 16th to Saturday May 18th. I did not realize how many missionaries are serving with YWAM in Romania until I went to the conference and I found out Romania is half of the YWAM missionary population in the Central region too! There were around 90 people there who are serving in the five different bases in Romania including Cluj Napoca, Constanţa, Iaşi, Mediaş and Târgu Mureş. I was amazed how international the community of YWAM is when I was at the conference! I met people from: Romania, Hungary, Canada, Norway, Brazil, Germany, Russia, Sweden, England, Switzerland, Holland, Moldova and Croatia.
Tom Bloomer was our speaker for the conference. He is a provost of University of the Nations and a father in the YWAM missions. I felt very inspired and challenged by the teaching throughout the conference. He taught a lot about hope and faith during the sessions. Some of the things he said about hope were: It is really dangerous when we burry our hope because hope is fundamental to our faith. Hope is crucial to a nation. It is through scripture that we get encouraged in hope. Some of the things he said about faith were: We cannot feel faith. It is deeper than hope. Faith comes through our obedience and we get spiritual growth when we do what Jesus tells us what to do. Each time we obey God, our faith increases.
• I praise God for the time that I had in Canada to be able to reconnect with everyone there!
• I praise God for all of His miraculous divine provisions with my transition with YWAM!
• I praise God for everything that He is teaching me through this time in my life!
• For God to continue to help me through this transition time with serving with YWAM.
• For God’s divine favor for me to find a housemate for the other room for my apartment.
• For God’s continuous open doors for friendships, ministry, improving in my Romanian, etc.
I would like to thank-you for your continual encouragement and prayers! I appreciate it so much!
