This past week the teaching at the DTS was called “Destiny by Design”. Vincent and Heather Zandvilet came from Holland and they taught on discovering our calling and destiny. For me it was really about re-discovering or I should say re-confirming the calling and destiny that God has on my life.
On Wednesday we did an exercise that was really freeing for all of us. We wrote down on two pieces of paper lies that we had believed of ourselves that had affected our identity. This exercise brought so much freedom because as we each took turns to speak out those lies, we then torn the pieces of paper in the trash bin and then we replace that lie with the truth. For example “I’m a fearful person” but the truth is “God’s perfect love cast out all fear so I’m no longer identified as a fearful person”. I believe for a long time many of these lies that I had believed so when I spoke them out, ripped the pieces of paper and then I replaced them with the truth something in the spiritual atmosphere broke through during that time which brought such freedom. Praise God!
It was such an encouraging week and I think I was especially surprised how there were three different days that we were given opportunities to prophesy over the staff and the students during the class time. I started to move in the prophetic gift for the first time when I went to Mozambique in the fall of 2012, then after that I did it sometimes when praying for people or at church but not so frequency, then in October of last year we had a week of teaching during my DTS lecture phase on the Holy Spirit and God “birthed” the prophetic gift in me when one of the teachers prayed for me. Then with everything that has been happening with my family and my knee situation I haven’t moved in the prophetic gift so much lately because it was like my spirit was so down. I really want to praise God for the last three days this week that He has once again moved me out in the prophetic gift and it has been an encouragement to me to see when the people received it that it was an encouragement to them because it was usually what the Lord was already speaking to them as well. Wow, this is God!
Oh, the DTS team that I’m a part of got our plane tickets for Uganda on Friday which was another miracle of what He has done in our team! Please keep us in our prayers as we are in the process of our preparation and fundraising. We will be flying out from the Budapest airport on Tuesday April 22nd and we are all very excited!! I just want to give God praise for His goodness and faithfulness in my life and also in the lives of the students and the staff here as well!
