My Mom became Canadian!

On Monday April 7, 2014, my Mom went to the immigration office in Toronto with my brother Jonathan to officially become a Canadian citizen!  When my Mom married my Dad, she moved to Canada (she is from Rochester, New York) and my Dad sponsored her to become a landed immigrate and then over a period of time she didn’t need to have all of these papers anymore to cross the border but she just needed a resident permanent card which lasted 5 years. At the beginning of her time in Canada my Mom could not

gether Canadian citizenship because otherwise she would have lost her American citizenship but then over period of time the laws changed so my Mom decided to get her Canadian citizenship and now she has dual citizenship.

In the evening I had a short Skype call with my Mom. Ah, I’m so very happy for her because she looked really happy showing me her citizenship paper, waving her Canadian flag and showing me her Canadian pin on her shirt too. It was really awesome to see her smiling so much! It just blessed my heart so much to see that! I really wish I could have been there for her but at least I’m glad that my brother Jonathan was there for her today!

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
