On Monday August 11th we had a team arrive ate at midnight at the YWAM base where I serve at here in Târgu Mureş, Romania. They were a youth/ young adult’s team from a church in New Jersey. They stayed until Saturday August 16th which was only for a week but we felt very blessed to have them here with us even if it was only for a very short time. There were 13 youth/ young adults on the team and their pastor and his wife led the team. There were 6 guys on the team and 9 girls on the team.
Before they came to Romania I sent Jamie their team leader a list of things that I had hoped that they would bring to Romania like new linen sheets (fitted sheets, sheets and pillow cases) for the hospitality cabinet at the base, peanut butter and some other things like Ranch dressing and Temptation snack treats for my cat. On Tuesday (August 12th) morning when I met the team I was so very happy that they brought 15 brand new packages of linen sheets, 15 jars of peanut butter and a bunch of other stuff that we had asked them to bring over. Wow, I felt completely overwhelmed by how much they had blessed us even before they even did any ministry here in Romania! They also took up an offering at their church the previous week to sow into the YWAM base here too which is another blessing from God!
During the week the team was here we kept them very busy with different ministry
activities. On Tuesday we gave them an orientation and showed them downtown Târgu Mureş, on Wednesday morning we took them to Platou (it’s a place where you can get a view of the city of Târgu Mureş and there is like a forest and a park there) for a time to pray together and then in the afternoon we took the team to the Cold Valley gypsy village to love on some beautiful children.
On Thursday morning we returned to Cold Valley gypsy village to spend time with the children, in the afternoon we split into three groups (one group stayed at the base to do some cleaning and do some preparation for the evening, another group did some street evangelism with Acacia and the other group went with Verica and I to the cancer hospital). In the evening we also had a good-bye party celebration for the DTS Montana team because it was their last day here so there were some tears that were shed and lots of hugs. I will all miss them so very much and I am so very grateful that God had brought them to Romania for their DTS outreach!
On Friday morning we cleaned the YWAM base with the New Jersey team and I also went shopping for the coffee house with Liz. In the afternoon we prepared for the coffee house and then in the evening from 5 – 9pm we had the coffee house at the YWAM base which was really great. It was a much smaller turn out compared to last time but I believe that the people who came were the people that God had wanted to come. We had around 10 people come out. I think there were like half of them that came from before and the others were new. We were really blessed because this time we had a special guest musician come who is a missionary from Canada. His name is Rob Berg and he so very gifted by God! Then afterwards I went out with the team for dinner.
On Saturday afternoon/ early evening the staff and I said good-bye to our new friends that are from New Jersey because it was their last day and Sunday morning (August 17th) they flew back to the States. It was really great to meet them and we felt so blessed by God that they were able to spend a week with us at the YWAM base here in Târgu Mureş!
