In May from the 16th to the 24th, the YWAM Târgu Mureş base where I serve we were very blessed with a DTS outreach team from YWAM York, England. There were eleven girls on this team and two guys (two staff and eleven students) and they were all such a blessings to us here. There were three different nationalities on their team (American, Canadian and Swiss). They also had a photography focus for their DTS so they were all pretty skilled and talented with taking pictures and making videos as well.
During their time they spent at our base they were quite busy and they served in various ways throughout the week. In the mornings they went to three different local high schools where they did conversational English classes with the students, in the afternoons the team prayed for the sick at a local cancer hospital and also did practical work at the base. The team also did an evangelical drama at my home church their first Sunday they were here and they were a part of the church’s barbecue where some of them shared their testimonies and also did another drama as well. I was very grateful for the opportunity that God gave me to coordinate their team and I really enjoyed serving alongside of the when they were in Romania.
Highlights from the team:
Here is what Lauren who was one of the leaders wrote about her team’s experience:
“The students really enjoyed all the ministries we were able to do during our week in Târgu Mureş. The one that had the most impact was the hospital ministry, both groups (we split the team into two groups when we took them to the hospital) witnessed healings and people giving their life to Christ. Going to the high schools was the most challenging for all of us because it was out of our comfort zone. Relying on Christ as our strength and confidence gave us what we needed to share with each class about ourselves and allowed us to connect with the students.”
