Trip to Oradea

On Tuesday August 11th we had a DTS staff meeting like we usually do every Tuesday DTS - YWAMmornings to talk about our upcoming DTS but this time it was a bit different because we talked about doing a promotion trip to different cities. Florin asked me if I would pray about doing a promo trip to Oradea since I had lived there for three years and I had some connections there. I told him that I would try and see if there are any open doors to go. I have never done any promo trip for the DTS in Romania so it was my first time to do something like this.

The next day I called my former Bible study leader Patrick and asked him if I could possibility share at the Bible study group that he and his wife have every Monday evening. I was so very thankful that he said yes which was my first invitation and open door that God had opened up to share about the DTS! I also contacted Pastor Ted at the Salem church and many other people but I didn’t receive any answers from anyone else. I think it was on Friday (August 14th) of that week that I had changed my mind of going to Oradea for the following weekend. I told Florin my base leader that I haven’t received any other invitations yet and this trip is so last minute that I’m not sure if I should go or not.

On Saturday of that week I spoke to my friend Stefan who did a DTS in Târgu Mureş about the possibility of me going to Oradea to promote the DTS and I asked him if he could speak to Pastor Ted about him getting back to me if I could share at the church or not. Then on Tuesday (August 18th) in the morning after the DTS staff meeting I was shocked when I checked my facebook that I got a message from Pastor Ted with an invitation to share about this DTS at the Salem church that Sunday! After I saw the facebook message from Pastor Ted I took it as a sign from God that He wanted me to go to Oradea to open doorpromote the DTS so I told Florin my base leader that I changed my mind to go and I sent the pastor a response telling him thank-you for the invitation and that I’d be there that Sunday.

On Thursday August 20th, I had such an incredible day because not only did I get my computer back after not having it for a month (it was in Bucharest because it needed to be repaired) but God also answered another prayer request which was He provided a cat sitter for Minnie my cat for when I would be in Oradea that weekend! I think it was also this day or the day before that God opened up an opportunity for me to stay with a Romanian family as well. I met this family through a guy named Peter who I met on the Iris alumni facebook page and it was his parents that I invited me to stay with for my trip to Oradea.

I was so blown away how God had put everything together for this promo trip especially at the last minute with two open doors to share at two different places about the DTS, my accommodations, a cat sitter and I also got my computer back right before I left as well! Wow, God is so good! I’m so very thankful for all of the Lord’s faithfulness and how He continually takes me on this journey to go into a deeper level of trust and faith with Him every day!

On Saturday August 22nd I took a maxi taxi (it is a mini bus) from Târgu Mureş to Oradea. I arrived in Oradea at 8:20pm. It turned out that I didn’t actually stay in Oradea after all but 10 km outside of the city in a village called Miersig. The family that I stayed with has a beautiful house and God also gave me the blessing of even having my own room during my stay as well which was such a special treat!

On Sunday August 23rd I had such an amazing day! In the morning God gave me the

opportunity to share about the DTS at the Salem church, then I had lunch with my friends Stefan and Dana (it was also wonderful to see their three young children too), then I got to meet with my friend Ioana, then when I came back to the house where I stayed I found out their cat just gave birth to five adorable kittens a month ago (they are so cute!) and to top it off one of the sons of the couple that I stayed with helped me with my computer as well.

I was able to re-set my laptop to the factory settings and I was finally able to get my Windows to be activated (there was a problem when I got it back on Thursday because it was not activated and when I asked the ASUS technicians about it they just told me to re-set it so I finally was able to do that). Now my laptop works perfect without any problems just like brand new from the store with the Windows activated! Wow, this was such a huge stress and weight that was lifted off of me that I had on me for over a month or so with my computer. I just want to praise God for lifting this stress and burden from me and also for restoring my joy again! Wow, what an amazing day it was and I am so grateful for everything that God has done as well!

On Monday August 24th I had another amazing day! In the morning it was so great to be

able to see the children and the families again at the Sabolciu gypsy village where I used to work when I had lived in Oradea. I had really missed them a lot so it was such a blessing from God to see everyone again! My heart was filled with so much joy especially to see some of the kids that I grew so close to and then it was so hard to leave them again. A girl name Lensi and a couple of others actually begged me not to leave them again which was so very hard! I am so very thankful that Norbi was able to take me that morning which was such a blessing from God.

In the afternoon I was able to meet my friend Geta for lunch and then a bit later I got to meet my friend Ioana which was such a blessing from God to be able to connect with them. In the evening I went to my former Bible study group and shared about the DTS there. It was so wonderful to see Patrick and Joy again and a few more familiar faces from when I had been a part of their group when I used to live in Oradea.

On Tuesday August 25th I left from Oradea at 8:30am to return home. I arrived back home in Târgu Mureş at 2:00pm. My bus ride was a 5 hour trip so it definitely felt quite exhausting but it was so good to be home again with Minnie my cat and I think she was pretty happy that I came home too. I am so very grateful for God giving me such a wonderful weekend in Oradea. It was such a blessing to be able to share about the DTS at a couple of different places, connect with friends again and also see the children that I used to work with at the Sabolciu gypsy village which was a very special time for me. I was also blown away by the generosity that I saw through my Romanian friends as well which really touched my heart so much. I also want to praise God for this new beginning of starting to promote the DTS in different cities in Romania as well. I praise God for how He opens up new doors in our lives and for the ministry as well! I am also so very grateful for everyone who prayed for my trip to Oradea because it really meant a lot to me!
