On September 20th the DTS 2015 (Discipleship Training School) began at the YWAM base where I serve at here in Târgu Mureş, Romania. This is my second time to be a staff for the DTS ministry and what a blessing from God it is to be a part of this life changing season for our students. This year we have a very small class of only three students but they are all such incredible people and I truly believe that God has brought them here for a
purpose for this school. The three students who are in this class are: Matt (he’s 21 years old and an American), Betty (she’s 22 years old and she’s from Romania but Hungarian) and Eli (he’s 18 years old and an American).
It has hard to believe that the 11 weeks of the lecture phase is almost over and the outreach phase will be starting in less than a week now. During the lecture phase it has been quite an intensive season of growing together both for the students and the staff in our relationship with God. In the mornings the teaching topics we had each week were: Discipleship, Prayer, Worship and Relinquishing Rights, Kingdom of God and Worldview, Hearing God’s Voice, Holy Spirit, Father Heart of God, Spiritual Warfare, Relationships, The person and the work of Jesus on the cross, Missions and Evangelism and our last week of teaching will be on team building and conflict resolution.
For the afternoons there are also different activities that happen during the week as well. On Monday the students have a Bible study class while the staff has a meeting, Tuesdays we have local outreach, Wednesdays we have intercession, Thursdays we have small group or outreach preparation and Friday there is time for the students to practice playing their
instruments for a music and arts afternoon. The local outreaches we have done with the students are: prayer at the cancer hospital, Treasure Hunting (Holy Spirit led evangelism), a children’s program and ministry to the homeless at the Coming Home foundation.
I am extremely excited to see the transformation that is taking placing during this school, in my own life, in the other staff and also in the student’s lives too! God is so very faithful! I truly believe that we are all going to continue to see the Lord move mighty during this DTS School! Please do uplift this DTS School in your prayers because it definitely does make a huge difference when we cover ourselves in prayer. Thanks so much!
Oh, yeah I just have to add something. I was extremely blessed when the students made a cake for my birthday which was a total surprise to me because I was not expecting it at all! That was so very sweet of them to do that for me! I seriously love each one of the DTS students and the staff that I serve with at the YWAM base. They are all such amazing people and I’m so thankful that God has brought them into my life at this time.
