The Good-byes Have Begun

On Friday June 24th from 6:30 – 9:30pm I had a good-bye party/ prayer send off get together at the YWAM Târgu Mureş base which is the base where I have been serving at the last 3 years. I really would like to thank God for everyone who came to my good-bye/ prayer send off get together. There were around 17 people that came and they were all such a blessing that they were able to be there for a very special time of fellowship, enjoy some delicious food and spend time together with God as well.

I was so very grateful my base leader Florin and Alex who also serves at the base played guitar and led us in a time of worship. After that I shared with everyone about the time of transition God has brought me into right now and also some prayer requests. Then everyone gathered around me to pray for me which was a really very encouraging time. Then we took a group picture and enjoyed some dessert. Oh, I was so surprised that my base leaders surprised me with a cake that said thank-you which was really nice of them to do that.

I am definitely going to miss everyone that came out on Friday.

Also, on Saturday June 25th in the evening God gave me an opportunity to spend it with my best friend Cristina and her two children Luiza and Andrei. It was such a blessing to spend time with them yesterday. I am so very grateful for God bringing Christina into my life back in June 2007, she was my very first close Romanian friend when I moved to Romania in April 2007 and we have been really great friends since then.

I have to admit it was really hard to say good-bye to her because I honestly do not know when will be the next time I’ll be able to see her again and her beautiful family. I’m going to miss them so much. I really do not like good-byes at all. I’m so glad though that we can stay in touch no matter what distance may be in between us.

There will still be more good-byes to come until I leave which won’t be so easy at all especially when it will be time to say good-bye to Miriam. I am going to really miss her a lot too. We have become great friends and we have lived together for the last 3 years as well.

I would appreciate your prayers for God’s grace for all of these good-byes and also for God’s continual presence as I go through this transition time and leave Romania with my cat Minnie on June 29th. I will also miss living in Romania too because it has been my home for the last 9 years and at this point I honestly do not know when or if I will be able to come back but God knows my future and I just need to give it to Him.

About Andrea

I am from Whitby, Ontario. I have lived in Romania for 9 years as a missionary but I am currently in Canada on a sabbatical break at this time. I have also lived in South Korea for a year and I have also been to Russia, Uganda, Albania and the Czech Republic on short-term mission trips. In 2012, God also gave me an amazing opportunity to go to Mozambique for the Harvest Mission School with Iris Ministries as well. I love children, reaching out to people who are in need and vulnerable, I have a passion to fight against the injustice issue of human trafficking and to simply share the love of Jesus wherever I go. I also love cats too and I have a cat of my own named Minnie!
